The University of New England's software development bootcamp uses a fine-tuned approach to teaching coding frameworks that leaves students ready to enter a career in tech.

Our Course Structure

24-Week, Part-Time Course are perfect for students that need a flexible schedule. Our courses take place two days during each work-week, and one day each weekend.

Tuesdays

Thursdays

Sundays

1:00 PM – 7:00 PM ET

Our Software Development Curriculum

You'll learn both front-end and back-end technologies, meaning that you'll end the program with a broad skillset in javascript programming and beyond.

Module 1

Introduction to Development

Our approach to teaching programming starts from the basics: terminal commands, a text editor, and GitHub deployment. Your journey start from learning Javascript, one of the most ubiquitous languages, to relay information to your computer. These are the simpler steps that will enable you create website, applications, and functions later on. This module includes loops, objects, strings, variables, arrays, and more.  HTML and CSS will also be introduced in order to build for websites,

Module 2

Front-End Coding

In the following weeks, the second module will explore front-end programming (the visual side of coding) as you learn what it means to become a full-stack developer. You'll learn how the front-end and back-end intersect, and learn about the DOM, as well as event listeners, as you apply them in test-driven development scenarios. React, the Javascript library built by Facebook, will be a core tool as you complete three portfolio pieces in this module.

Module 3

Back-End Coding

The back-end of an application is where in formation is processed and stored. You'll learn how to efficiently access and manipulate this information using applications, databases and servers. Express.Js will be a primary tool used in this module, to connect with third party APIs and create server-side tools. You'll also learn how to apply MongoDB to the back-end of an application. 

Module 4

Final Projects

You final Capstone project gives you the practical development experience you'll need to secure a job after your course. You'll assist a company of organization create a software application, giving you another real-world example of the power of software development. In doing so, you'll learn development operations, cutting-edge project cycle structures, and further expand your skillset for future learning post-graduation.
